Title: Solving Hard Mixed Integer Programming Problems with Xpress-MP: A MIPLIB 2003 Case Study Author names: Richard Laundy, Michael Perregaard, Gabriel Tavares, Horia Tipi and Alkis Vazacopoulos Abstract: Over the past decade there has been a huge improvement in the performance of state-of-the-art MIP codes. Combined with the increased performance of computers over this period the size and complexity of the problems that can be solved has increased enormously. In this paper we take a closer look at some of the hardest problems in the MIPLIB 2003 library to show how much progress has been made with Xpress-MP.
