Title: Inference-Guiding and Integer Programming
Time: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Location: RUTCOR Building - Lounge, Rutgers University, Busch
Campus, Piscataway, NJ
Abstract:
Inference-guiding is a function of the inference engine of an
intelligent system, which identifies the missing data in the case that
given facts are not sufficient to logically reach a conclusion in
inference. It has been known that the problem of logical inference can be
converted to an integer programming problem. We discuss in this seminar
the connections between inference-guiding and integer programming, which
suggests a way of developing algorithms for effective and efficient
inference and inference-guiding.
